Sweet Lovin'

Normally our couples have lots of things in common with each other.  They both love to read, are really into music, or they both love the outdoors and rock climbing. (Just some examples :))  Yesterday's couple share a HUGE SWEET TOOTH!

So, in efforts to personalize their wedding (and maximize their budget) they chose to have a dessert reception!  It was such a fun idea.  There was a huge spread of several different types of desserts.  Some of selections included fruit with chocolate fondue, brownies, lemon bars, torts and of course (the ultimate dessert at a wedding) a few different flavors of wedding cake.

There are multiple factors that helped to make this dessert bar such a success:

First of all, they told all of their guests ahead of time that there would be a "dessert reception to follow" on the invitations, so everyone knew ahead of time that it wasn't the typical dinner reception!

Secondly, they had a later ceremony time.  Instead of a 5:00 pm or 5:30 pm ceremony theirs was at 7:00 pm.  That allowed guests to change their clothes, grab some dinner and travel to Tapestry House in plenty of time for the ceremony!

Lastly, the dessert bar was handled like a normal buffet.  Tables were excused by staff so that there wasn't a huge crowd surrounding the tables.  There was plenty of time for everyone to enjoy the desserts without having to be focused on one of the other wedding traditions.

It was fun to see couples feeding each other and sharing desserts, talking about favorites, and everyone just relaxing and enjoying the company.
