Grow Grass, Grow!

This winter, in preparation for the coming wedding season, we have top dressed our lawns. We brought in 23 tons!! (that's 46,000 lbs) of dirt!! It was a lot of hard work spreading it all over, but it will definitely be worth it in the spring.

How this process works is you put nutrient rich soil on top of your lawns and as it sits there and the grass grows around it, the blades soak up the food and your grass grows back full and lush and beautiful. The best time of year for this process is Spring or Fall (both of which are out of the picture seeing as we have weddings at those points in the year) so we decided to do it in the winter. As the weather warms a little more we will also re-seed the lawns as well to fill out any spots that may have thinned.

If you visit us in the near future, know that the lawns will not look like soil all year round. As the spring happens and the grass starts to green up, it will be revitalized and healthy; Making Tapestry House all the more picturesque for your special day.

Here are some fun photos of the whole gang getting involved. We were racing the weather to get the soil down before the snow.

Carlos, our full time grounds maintenance crew,
working hard. :)
