This past weekend we had a really fun and unique wedding! The bride's brother owns a restaurant in Las Vegas called Sage and so he catered the wedding for this couple. His food was very different from anything that we have had here at Tapestry House before, but it was quite delicious! His appetizers ranged from Seared Tuna to Caramel Popcorn Soup to Bone Marrow Custard infused with tobacco. This picture is of the Bone Marrow Custard!
Not only was the food delicious, but the cake was something quite unique as well! The couple really likes girl scout cookies, specifically the Thin Mints and Samoas. Instead of a traditional wedding cake, the bride's mother made them a "cake" purely out of these two types of cookies! They then "cut the cake" and fed each other a cookie and then allowed guests to come take what they wanted.
The night got even more exciting when the Best Man and the Maid of Honor each gave their speeches to the bride and groom. During the Maid of Honor's speech, she brought up the fact that she and the bride used to dance around to songs from Grease 2 (yes, there is a sequel to Grease, she explained). At that point, the DJ played their song and the two of them got up and started to dance to it. Each bridesmaid had a "Pink Ladies" sweater on the back of their chairs, so as the song played on, all the girls joined in, revealing the bride in a black leather jacket. Everyone loved the unique presentation that the girls had for the groom and rest of the guests! Later that night, the groom sat his wife on a chair in the middle of the dance floor while he grabbed a mic from the DJ. He sang her his own rendition of "Hungry Eyes" while the rest of the guests joined in on certain parts of the song.
We wish this couple all the best on their journey together and hope they always remember to laugh together! Congratulations to the both of you!
