Recently we had a blended family here at Tapestry House. The Bride's two young sons (11 & 13 years old) welcomed the groom into the family in a big way. At the start of toasts, the youngest son came to us and asked, "Can I use the microphone please? We have a present we want to give to [groom]". Here is what they said:
"We want to give you a 'riesen' to relax" (oldest son hands Groom a bag of Riesen Candy)
"Because we know in the future you will need a hand managing us" HUGE SMILES from both boys and oldest son hands him some work gloves.
"You may want to nail our feet to the floor" (oldest son hands him hammer and nails)
"Or you could always handcuff us together" (oldest son hands him some toy handcuffs)
"The Third option is to duct tape us to the walls when we are really bad" (oldest son hands him 2 rolls of duct tape)
"We are excited that you are part of the family now! Welcome and enjoy your survival kit!"
Of course the entire room erupted into applause! They stole the show, but more importantly it was great to see that the groom had stolen their hearts too, not just the bride's :) Congratulations to you 4! We wish you all the best in your adventures together.
