Home Plate Glory

We had a bride-to-be and her mother come in for a tour yesterday. My favorite part of tours is to hear the stories of the proposal, so naturally I ask everyone. Sometimes the stories are simple, but so heartfelt and perfect for that couple you can just watch her eyes light up. Some stories are more elaborate and the excitement will just spread like wildfire. The most recent story is too fantastic not to share.

"He tricked me into our first date and we saw a Rockies game." (OK, first he tricked her into a date...that's awesome!) She had denied his requests for a date for some time apparently and then she finally said yes to this Rockies game. Over the years they had many more dates, but Coors Field held a special meaning to them both. His dad is the Chaplin for the Rockies, so when he finally decided to propose after years of dating, he knew just what he had to do.

He arranged with his dad to be in the stadium while it was empty. They were standing at home plate, marveling at the sheer size of the place and he got down on one knee!!!!

The best part ~ There was a tour of the stadium going on that these two did not see, so when she said yes, the whole tour filled the stadium with cheers and applause!

We are very excited for the two of you. Wherever you decide to tie the knot, we know that the perseverance and love you have for each other will fill your lives with joy!
