May Good Things Grow!

At the end of last month, we had the pleasure of working with a couple who wanted a very vintage wedding reception.  Each and every detail of their wedding was carefully planned so they could achieve the exact look that they were going for!  From the guest book table to the reception tables, their wedding was filled to the brim with fun little vintage treasures!

The bride made beautiful burlap table runners for each and every one of her guest tables, complete with a tiny piece of lace at the bottom of each one.  They looked great with the ivory tablecloths and napkins!

The bride also painted tiny canvases with ivory paint and then placed stickers spelling out each table number.  These were then placed on tiny easels in the center of each table next to her beautiful vintage lanterns.

Not only were the guest tables beautiful, but she created a fun, vintage atmosphere through her guest book table and her gift table as well!  On her guest book table, she placed a vintage typewriter that instructed guests to select their favorite book title, sign their names, and leave a little note for the bride and groom.  These "book titles" were on vintage Penguin books postcards!  Each guest could decide which one they wanted to write on and personalize it for the couple.  Not only that, but on the gift table, the bride had a stack of three, vintage suitcases.  The top suitcase opened up to reveal letters spelling out "CARDS" with little pieces of lace around it so that guests could place their cards wishing the couple well in the suitcase!  Look how cute it is! :)

Another aspect of their wedding that we absolutely loved was during their ceremony.  Traditionally, we see a lot of couples perform a sand ceremony, the lighting of a unity candle, or the combining of flowers to symbolize the joining of their two families.  This couple did something we here at Tapestry House had never seen before!  One of their relatives collected a bunch of smooth, beautiful stones from a lake in their home state.  Before the guests arrived, one rock was placed on each chair at the ceremony site.  During the ceremony, two of the ushers came and collected the beautiful rocks from the guests and took them to the bride and groom who placed all of the rocks, as well as two of their very own, in a glass vase.  It was a great way to involve all of their guests and symbolize not only the joining of their families, but a joining of their friends as well.

We wish this couple all the best and hope that, as their favor table says, "May good things grow" for them!! :)  Congratulations, you two!!
