A Spin on Traditional Dances

One of our beautiful brides lost her mother years ago. In the recent ceremony they had a beautiful memory table and really did a wonderful job of remembering her. Her father had remarried and this bride and her stepmother got along wonderfully. The step-mom was so supportive and helpful at the wedding, it was just a day full of love all around for everyone.

What they did at the reception was MOVING! The Bride and her stepmother shared a dance to "Holes in the Floor of Heaven" by Steve Wariner.

For those of you who are not country music fans and have not heard the song, its a tear-jerker. It starts with a little boy who loses his grandma and his mom tells him not to be sad because when it rains that's his grandma missing him in Heaven. It then goes on to talk about how he grows up and gets married and when his wife passes, how much he misses her. The last lyrics are below:

Well my little girl is 23
I walk her down the aisle
it's a shame her mom can't be here now
to see her lovely smile
They throw the rice
I catch her eye
as the rain starts comin' down
she takes my hand says daddy don't be sad 'cause
I know momma's watchin' now

And there's holes in the floor of Heaven
and her tears are pourin down
that's how you know she's watchin'
wishin' she could be here now
and sometimes when I'm lonely
I remember she can see
there's holes in the floor of Heaven
and she's watchin' over you and me

While it was a beautiful day and not a rain cloud in sight, there were sure a lot of water works in the room from everyone, even staff members. It was such a beautiful tribute to her mother and acknowledgment of what her step-mother meant to her....

All parents of the bride and groom are such proud parents, because they have created two wonderful people who were lucky enough to find one another. We wish this newlywed couple all the best in their future together!
